Presentation and promotion that sells

MP Trade is a Belgian distributor and retailer in the trading card space, with both a physical store and retail customers. After initially operating B2C-driven, MP Trade shifted towards B2B and intensified the collaboration with The Acrylic Box as a distributor partner — combining wholesale supply with direct-to-consumer sales.

When asked what they think of TAB as a brand, owner Maxim Pirard doesn’t make it complicated: “It’s good. What I really like is the packaging. The overall look and feel is simply better than a lot of other brands. With a physical store, you immediately see what stands out.”

MP Trade also mentions the range and the way TAB shows up publicly: “They’ve got a broad assortment and their marketing — especially on Instagram — is funny and well done. You can tell there’s effort behind it.”

You can tell there’s effort behind it.”

On the collaboration itself, the word that comes back is speed: “The collaboration is smooth. Same language, short lines, and they reply fast — two days tops. That matters because in this business, you often wait way too long with other partners and it slows everything down.”

That responsiveness also makes it easier to work together day to day: “If something comes up, it gets handled quickly. That’s basically what you want.”

When asked if there were any doubts about working with TAB, Maxim is clear: “No. If I reach out to a brand, we just go for it.”

“If I reach out to a brand, we just go for it.”

In TAB’s case, the choice felt straightforward from the start: “Like I said, for me it really was the packaging. TAB puts real effort into how it looks in-store. The displays and POS materials look good too.”

At retail level, MP Trade sees a consistent pattern: once stores start with TAB, they tend to stay: “We don’t get complaints. Once retailers bring TAB in, they usually keep it. They don’t switch away.”

Looking ahead, MP Trade expects continued growth in the category — and sees TAB as a brand that can ride that wave with them: “With the popularity of TCG, I think a lot is still going to happen! Big jumps this year as well. I see it very positively, and I’m curious what new products they’ll launch next.”
